It’s the final weekend of the Premier League season and there are a number of decisive matches taking place at the bottom of the table. Leeds will be hoping to avoid the drop as they welcome Spurs to Elland Road.
Leeds
Sam Allardyce’s appointment hasn’t gone according to plan so far, however ‘Big Sam’ still has an opportunity to become a hero in West Yorkshire on Sunday afternoon. Despite their poor form, the Whites still have a chance of escaping the drop IF they can secure all three points against ailing Spurs.

Leeds’ goal difference of -27 is slightly inferior to Everton and far worse than Leicester. Only a victory will be suffice this weekend.
The hosts haven’t been victorious since the beginning of April, however, they are unbeaten in four of their last six at home and have found the net in each of their last 12 outings.
Leeds’ issues have been at the back and they have struggled to defend throughout the course of the season. They were unable to hold onto the lead against West Ham and have failed to win on each of the last three occasions that they’ve found themselves in front.
Spurs
Spurs are ending the season with a whimper. They sit in eighth position and depending on results here, they could potential end the campaign in ninth spot. Ryan Mason has improved the club’s attacking output, yet they continuously struggle at the back and were easily opened up by a Brentford outfit who had very little to play for.
Across the course of the season, the North London outfit have conceded an average of 2.06 goals per game on the road and their matches have been hugely entertaining. They’ve lost each of their last three away from home by score-lines of 2-1, 4-3 and 6-1.
A significant overhaul of the squad will be required this summer and Daniel Levy is under pressure to make the right managerial appointment over the next couple of weeks.
They have very little to play for (apart from eighth spot), however, there are several players who will be playing their final game in a Spurs shirt and will be keen to bow out in style.
Head to Head
These two teams have played out some marvellously entertaining fixtures in recent years and the most recent meeting between the sides was a masterclass in terrible defending. Spurs won 4-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Rodrigo Bentancour scoring twice in the last nine minutes. In traditional style, Leeds were unable to hold onto a 3-2 lead and failed to take anything back to West Yorkshire.
Across the last six meetings, Spurs have been victorious in four of those matches. Leeds have been victorious in the other two fixtures (both at Elland Road).
Each of the last six matches have featured three or more goals and 67% of those games have seen BTTS land. With 18 goals across the last four meetings, this could be another cracker!

Match Prediction
Leeds desperately need to take all three points in this game and given Spurs’ current form, they should be able to take all three points. Nevertheless, they are unlikely to do it with the minimum of fuss and are highly unlikely to keep a clean sheet.
