Sunday’s opening Premier League fixtures sees leaders Arsenal head to East London to face West Ham. This game kicks off at 2pm UK Time and will take place at the London Stadium.
West Ham
Although the Europa Conference League is a welcome distraction for West Ham, David Moyes’ men still aren’t safe from relegation. Their recent form has given them a three point cushion over the bottom three, however, they cannot afford to take their foot off the gas just yet.

Get it & Bet It Now!The hosts bounced back from 5-1 hammering at home to Newcastle with an impressive 1-0 away win at Fulham. Their 2023 form has been significantly improved and they’ve suffered just three defeats since mid-January.
At the London Stadium, they are unbeaten in five of their last six, however, they’ve taken just two points from a possible 15 when hosting top eight sides. They struggled here against Newcastle, Man City and Brighton and they are likely to find it tough against the best away side in the top flight.
The good news is that WHU may be able to welcome Lucas Paqueta back into the XI for this game. His injury issues have hindered the Hammers this season and fans will be pleased to see him potentially return to the squad.
Arsenal
Arsenal blew a two goal lead against Liverpool at the weekend and also survived a missed penalty from Mo Salah. The Gunners’ seven match winning sequence was undone by this result, however, they are still in the driving seat when it comes to the title race. Although they still have to visit the Etihad Stadium, they still have a five point lead. Their weaker goal difference means that there is very little margin for error between now and their upcoming contest with Manchester City.
The Gunners have an excellent record when visiting bottom half sides and have dropped just five points when travelling to sides that are currently occupying the bottom ten positions.
Arsenal will also benefit from the lack of European action and Mikel Arteta’s side should be well-rested ahead of this Sunday afternoon contest.
Head to Head
Arsenal have an excellent record in this fixture and they have won 23 of the last 30 meetings between these sides. The Gunners have also been victorious in each of the last three matches between these sides and also in six of the last seven.
The North London outfit have also scored 2+ in each of the last five fixtures involving these two teams. Despite their recent exploits, this game hasn’t always been the most entertaining with just 37% of the last 30 meetings featuring three or more goals. Nevertheless, 83% of those matches have landed Over 1.5 Goals.

Match Prediction
Arsenal weren’t at their best last weekend, but they should be able to bounce back against West Ham. The hosts have massively improved, yet they’ve struggled when hosting top six opposition and come off the back of a tough Europa Conference League clash with Gent.
