Two Premier League strugglers meet at the King Power on Monday night as Leicester take on Everton. The match kicks off at 8pm.
Leicester
It’s been a season to forget for Leicester with the former Premier League champions currently battling relegation. The Foxes have appointed former Villa boss Dean Smith until the end of the season following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers and although he was never likely to pick up a result against an unstoppable Man City outfit, he has managed to pick up four points from his subsequent matches.

Get it & Bet It Now!Despite this upturn in form, they still sit in the relegation zone and are currently a point shy of safety. Smith endured a torrid time at Norwich and was unable to save the Canaries from relegation, yet he has had an impact on this Leicester squad and they finally look to be heading in the right direction.
They could easily have taken all three points from their midweek match against Leeds (they had a first half goal disallowed) and fans will be pleased to see Jamie Vardy back amongst the goals.
Everton
Following a mini-revival under Sean Dyche, Everton’s form has dropped off. Although they battled their way to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park, their away form has been particularly poor this season. They’ve failed to register in five of their last seven away from Goodison Park and have looked toothless in the final third.
They slipped up once again on Thursday night and have had far less time to prepare for this clash than their opponents. Despite their poor form, they remain just a couple of points shy of safety, however, they cannot simply rely on keeping things tight and they must show more adventure going forward.
Their data have been far from impressive and with an xG of just 0.97 on the road across the entire season, things don’t look like changing anytime soon.
Head to Head
These two sides are familiar foes and they have faced each other a number of times over the last few seasons. There has been a perfectly even split across the last 19 matches with each side winning on seven occasions. The remaining five fixtures have ended all-square.
The majority of their recent encounters have been relatively entertaining with 74% of those 19 games seeing each side get on the scoresheet. 63% of those games have also featured three or more goals.
However, the last two fixtures have ended with an away victory by a 2-0 score-line. Leicester put in a truly dominant performance at Goodison Park in November with goals from Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans sealing a much-needed three points. The home side hasn’t been successful in this fixture since July 2020 (a game which was held behind closed doors).
Key Betting Stats
- Everton matches have been fairly low-scoring this season with an average of just 2.19 goals per match.
- The Toffees have been notoriously slow starters this season and have scored just ten first half goals, the fewest in the top flight.
- In contrast, Leicester have been far more productive during the first 45 and have netted 26 of their 44 goals before the break.
- The visitors have scored just ten times on their travels this season. Only Nottingham Forest have scored fewer.
- 25% of Everton’s goals have been scored in the final 10 minutes of matches
- BTTS has landed in six of Leicester’s last seven outings.
- Harvey Barnes is the only Leicester player in double figures this season (10). None of the club’s three strikers have netted more than five times so far.
Match Prediction
Leicester have undoubtedly improved under Dean Smith and he has seemingly given their strikers a much-needed confidence boost. Everton cannot seem to find any sort of form on the road and may fall short once again at the KP.
