There’s a Saturday lunchtime kick-off in the Premier League as EFL Cup finalists Newcastle head to the Etihad to take on Manchester City. The game gets underway at 12:30pm.
Man City
Man City put out an impressively strong XI against Bristol City in midweek as they cruised through to the next round of the FA Cup. They also produced a dominant performance last weekend as they dismantled Bournemouth at the Vitality. Pep’s side haven’t been able to find their usual consistency this season, however, there are signs that they are clicking back into gear and are deservedly odds-on to win this contest.

City have scored ten times across their last three matches at this ground and have suffered just a single defeat in front of their own fans so far (vs Brentford). With a return of 31 points from a possible 36, they are a formidable home outfit and although Arsenal were victorious in midweek, they still have their eye on usurping the Gunners for the title this season. They also have very few injury concerns with both John Stones and Aymeric Laporte able to potentially play some part in this fixture.
Newcastle
Newcastle have hit the buffers in recent weeks with their unbelievable start to the campaign becoming a thing of the past. The Magpies haven’t been helped by injuries and this is yet another tough fixture for Eddie Howe’s side.
They’ve won just one of their last seven matches and have picked up just a sole victory in the PL in 2023. Nevertheless, they’re unbeaten in eight away from home and have suffered just a single defeat on the road (vs Liverpool).
Goals have become an issue for Howe’s men with the North East outfit having netted just three times since December 28th.
Although the injuries are slowly clearing up for the visitors, they remain without Emil Krafth, Nick Pope (suspended) and potentially Bruno Guimaraes.

These two sides played out a brilliantly entertaining 3-3 draw earlier in the season. It was a pulsating clash in which City came from 3-1 down to take a point. They also fired in 22 shots during the 90 minutes.
