East London takes on West London on Saturday lunchtime as Chelsea made the short trip across the capital to face West Ham.
West Ham
It’s been a season of struggle for West Ham with David Moyes’ side positioned just a point above the relegation zone heading into this contest. Despite their fairly perilous position, the Hammers are unbeaten in three of their last four matches and managed to take a point off high-flying Newcastle seven days ago. Moyes called his side’s display ‘one of the best performances of the season’, and having feared for his job a fortnight ago, perhaps, the Scot has managed to secure his position as head coach for the remainder of the season.

Get it & Bet It Now!The hosts have lost more games at home than they have won this season with three of their four victories at the London Stadium coming against sides who currently occupy bottom six spots in the table.
Injuries haven’t helped the Hammers this season with Kurt Zouma, Gianluca Scamacca and Maxime Cornet all having missed matches in recent weeks. The latter is expected to return soon, however, this game may come a little too soon for the former Burnley man.
Chelsea
Although their position in the table (9th) is still significantly underwhelming, Chelsea’s recent results have steadily improved. They are now unbeaten in three matches, keeping a clean sheet in each of those encounters. Graham Potters’ side will be hoping that their January recruits can settle into the XI and that they can find their shooting boots here.
The Blues have a terrific record when faces sides that are managed by David Moyes and having won four of their last five meetings with the Hammers, they’ll be feeling confident ahead of this contest.
Chelsea’s away form has been problematic and they haven’t recorded a victory on their travels since October 16th (vs Villa). Having scored just three times across their last seven away games and having converted just 7% of their shots on the road, this could be yet another low-scoring 90 minutes.
Head to Head
Chelsea have dominated this fixture over the years and they’ve won 17 of their last 30 meetings between these clubs.
The Blues were also victorious in the previous meeting between these sides. They were forced to come from behind with goals from Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz helping to secure all three points at Stamford Bridge.
The visitors have managed to keep clean sheets in 47% of the last 30 meetings between these sides and given their improved defensive displays, we could see yet another Hammers blank on Saturday.

Match Prediction
This televised tie is unlikely to be a classic, however, it is nicely poised. Chelsea have improved significantly defensively, yet they still lack cutting edge. West Ham have also seen an upturn in performance levels recently and this will be far from straightforward for the Blues. They have a fantastic record against David Moyes, yet they may have to settle for a point.
